Cayla is 1 month old! (9 Oct 09)

Cayla is 1 month old! This is our family photo taken. If you see her in person, you probably will notice how she has changed in 1 month. She has filled up, and her mittens do not drop off anymore...

It's been a exciting and challenging first month. We had finally been able to settle down in our new flat, and finished unpacking during this 1 month. As mentioned earlier, we could not have done it without my mother-in-law. She is with us everyday, preparing the meals for Georgia, helping to clean the house and preparing herbal soup and stuff to help Georgia during her confinement.

Georgia has to keep breastfeeding Cayla, and Cayla keeps drinking or wants to be carried, and she poos very often. She sleeps during the day and stays awake the whole night. Natalie & Rebecca stays awake during the day and sleeps at night. though they do wake up in the middle of the night. I spent many a nights playing musical beds with them - putting them to bed, waking up to carry them back to their beds, each of them taking turns to come over to our room, lying in bed with them to pet them to sleep.

As Georgia is on confinement, we are at home most of the time, and the girls do get restless very easily. They liked to go out, instead of staying in the house all the time. It is extremely difficult to keep them occupied, given that they have so much energy in them.

I bring Natalie & Rebecca to mass on Sundays. While they do make noise a bit and can't really sit still, they have been quite well behaved. On weekdays, I also fetch Natalie from her kindergarten in the afternoon, as I am on 1/2 day leave during this period. An old auntie neighbours comes by, and commented that I am so lucky to be able to work 1/2 days, while her son cannot. I replied that it is because I choose to do so. They must think I have the easiest job in the world. oh well!

When people see us or our photos on Facebook, many will congratulate us and especially on learning that we now have 3 girls, they will then asked if we would be having the next one, possibly a boy. I guess it's just our asian culture to want to have boys to carry on the family line. I don't know why everyone thinks that we want to have more children cause we wanted a boy. If we had a boy, it might be different for him to grow up, as compared to Natalie & Rebecca. Nevertheless, we don't mind at all, as we just want to have as many kids as possible. right now, i think 3 is about as many as we can handle. It's God's will and God has given us children to allow us to grow as a family. I don't think people will be convinced by our rationale though.

Many old folks will also tell us that having girls nowadays is much better, as girls will take care of us in the future. We never thought of having children so that they could take care of us in our old age. Children will have their own lives to lead and we don't expect them to take care of us. Neither do I expect them to spend time with us, unless they want to. Hey, we will have plenty of things planned out, and we do not expect our girls to plan their time around us all the time.

So now, we can finally go out and celebrate all our birthdays and do stuff. If you are visiting or want to meet up, do give us a tinkle first, ok?
