Family Flu pandemic since Mother's day(27 May 05)

We don't have anything to do with the H1N1 flu pandemic, cause we are stuck in Sunny Singapore. It's been an extremely busy 2 weeks plus since Mother's day, cause we were all down with flu, passing to each other in the family.

We celebrated Mother's day with my mum on 10 May 09, with mum, sis and her family first at our home in the afternoon, where the kids get to play with each other. then we left to go to Vittles, where we had our dinner. This time, we had to sit outside in the open area, which is hot and humid. The food was a long time in coming due to the crowd. Even then, they missed one of our orders, which we decided to pack away instead of staying there. I don't know why, perhaps its cause its a weekend, and its mother's day, so Vittles can't really cope. When we go on our own, the food and service was fine. We moved over to McDonalds to cut the cake and eat ice cream. My niece got sick during dinner, and didn't take much food, other than ice cream... ;)

Natalie had to miss 6 days of school, as she had fever from Thursday, 14 May 09. She also started coughing. Mucus running down all the time, and we are kept busy cleaning them up, washing their hands and all. Rebecca started coughing last week and had fever too. Our family doctor got so busy and had to changed their medicine too. Natalie's PCF was also proactive with checks on the children, as well as ensuring that parents get a clearance from the doctors before attending school again. The parents of the children attending PCF here is also very responsible, and the children didn't attend school if they are sick.

As far as we know, it's viral flu and it's contagious, so we restricted our movement as much as possible. We even had to turn down some dinner invitations and missed mass....sigh.

It is vital at times like this to see a doctor and not self medicate, cause children having fever and other flu-like symptoms need to be given appropriate medicine. We also need to ensure that the children clean themselves up, washing their hands properly, cleaning their faces, having plenty of rest and restricting their contact with other children. that means not going to public places when they are sick as far as possible.

Georgia & I are also trying hard not to fall sick, as if we do, who will look after Natalie & Rebecca. There are also tons of things to do these few months, which I will share in the next few posts.

So do pray for us and remember to wash your hands!
