I had the opportunity to watch a movie entitled "Celestine Prophesy" today, although I should have been studying. Apparently, its based on a book in America that a search on the internet indicates it was a NEW York best seller. The story seems to be about a ex-history teacher who went to Peru in search of some prophesy that meant to give meaning to his life and ours...;)
The story is interesting, but the only thing coming through my mind is that the truth is already revealed in Jesus Christ and His teaching through the church. It never fails that alot of people who don't understand seemed to think of the catholic church is hiding the truth from the world, as its a huge prominent "organisation" with more than a billion faithful. I never understood it, but the church is always something that can be bashed on to creat a sensation, as its affects everyone on earth. The catholic church has always stands up to the world as a voice of conscience and truth for the world, in many issues.
If only people knew the truth, the truth that the church is showing the world and follows them, then there would be no more misunderstanding. The catholic church's teaching, which is the teaching of Christ is always shown to the world. the church stands by what it teaches, and if people are willing to follow them, they would find their purpose in life. Christ came to show the world the truth, and the truth is handed down the generation, preserved by the catholic church. The teachings have not changed. People just choose to believe that its not the truth, cause its a difficult path to follow. They just want to see the human faults in the faithful and find a convenient excuse to turn away. As rghtly pointed out, everyone should read the real history of the catholic church, and you will understand. Sadly, we listen to what we want to listen. The prophesy is already shown in the bible, and the catholic church is the interpreter. Sadly, everyone wants to look for that mysterious scroll that shows the mysteries of life, but it is already given to us by God through the church.
