People wanting to be rich! (27 Nov 07)

There are alot of people in the world who dream of striking it rich...that means having lots of money. They go to become entreprenuers and aim to have their $1million by a certain time, usually 1 - 3 years. That is all fine, but what are you doing with all that money? Who would you want so much money for? They laugh at who they called "ordinary" or "mediocre" people who have a decent job, serving others, working for others and who only say they want to be rich. It seems these entrepreneurs are the only people who have goals and are achievers.

Me? I am a catholic, and my mission in life is to serve God, as he entrusted me with His mission, the mission which he gave to every catholic, which is to be a witness, to give glory to God, to bring people closer to Him. I am rich beyond my wildest dream, as I am fulfilled in knowing who I am and what I have to do.

Financially, I am poor, cause I am only a 35-yr old student and I am not even on a scholarship. I had to take unpaid study leave, pay for my fees and travel all the way to England to study. Does it really matter? I have been blessed all my life with people, people who helped me along my way.

All I pray is to be able to continue the mission and make a difference in someone's life. That's the reason why I chose to continue studying in the field of water regulations and management. Water is essential to everyone, and there are so many without basic water and sanitation. They are susceptible to diseases, and they can't even survive properly.

I am sure the millionaires and all the enterprenuers could be useful, as they could donate their money to such worthy causes, which is to provide for the less fortunate of the world. They could even experience living with nothing. Certainly, the many whom they called "mediocre" are doing their bit to donate what little they have to help others. To me, being kind and having the right moral values is more important than working on getting that 1 more dollar.

"seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all the rest will follow."
