As most of our family, friends and relatives would know, we are expecting our 3rd child. The detailed scan indicated that it will be a girl. That started a search to find a suitable name for the baby. Something like Natalie Clare or Rebecca Mae. We need a first christian name that is 2-3 syllables and a second christian name which is 1 syllable. And they must have a meaning which is a variant of a saints name, as we want the child to be like the saints that she is named after. With each girl, the names get harder and harder to find, something which is meaningful, yet not common (as in names of friends, friends' children, relatives etc). We finally settled on Cayla Faye, which means "pure faith". Cayla is a variant of Catherine (pure) and Faye is a variant of Faith.
Our faith was sorely tested after the name of the baby was chosen, as the baby was not growing as expected. It was also probably due to many things happening in our life in the last 2 months. She was fine for the 1st few months, but during the last 2 months, she was very small. She was only 900+grams when she was supposed to be around 1.1kg at 28 weeks, and she was like 1.4 kg when she was supposed to be at least 1.7 -1.8kg at 32 weeks. It was period of intense stress, but we trusted in God to deliver.
We just went to see our gynae, Dr Woo, on Saturday, and thank God she is now 1.9kg at 34 weeks, still about 10% short of the expected weight. If she is any smaller, Dr Woo would have advised on inducing her so that she can grow properly. Now, we will just wait for the next appointment in 2 weeks time to see how she is growing.
Now we are praying that Cayla Faye Chua Kit Yean is safe and be born in Sept, perhaps 2 Sep or 9 Sep. But everything be done according to God's will. Do keep us in your prayers....
