We flew back to Singapore on 19 Sep 08 at 12.05am, just a few minutes after my birthday! Dad, Mum & Sis were there to greet us at the airport. We went back to Dad's place to stay for a few days, as we thought we could spend more time with them and get the house cleaned up as well.
We can't imagine how the tenant could live in the place, without keeping it hygenic. They have got 2 young boys! The kitchen floor and wall is full of grime and grease, and it is infested with cockroaches and ants! The sink area is damaged and water logged! Our oven and microwave is filthy, and the stove is clogged! Our parquet floor is scratched and the sofa damaged from people jumping on it. Our TV console is damaged with scratches and handle missing. All our fans are damaged or missing, and even one got duct tape sticking the motor to the fan! Our ceiling fan is stuck to speed one and is almost dropping from the ceiling! Such dangerous and unhygenic conditions!
Everyone keep telling me it's like that when you rent out! Well, It's because it's not their place they are renting out. Even so, how could anyone stay in such an unhygenic condition. I might be different, as our rental flat is cleaner than it was when we first moved in. It's not so much ownership, but rather that we are staying there, and it has to be kept clean.
So we had to replace the ceiling fan and stuff, and we are still cleaning up the place and unpacking.
The place is now much better, and we will see how things go
