A short Mini-cruise from Portsmouth to Bilbao (16 - 19 Mar 08)

At the Guildford train station waiting for the bus shuttle to bring us to Haslemere, where we would catch the train to Portsmouth.

On the train from Haslemere to Portsmouth. Train ride took us about an hour, minus waiting and transfer time. Enroute, there were fabulous views of countryside and quaint town names like Rowland Castle.

And finally, at Portsmouth! The Spinnaker Tower on the left, and Portsmouth Harbourfront on the right. There is an uncanny resemblance between this and the Harbourfront we have in Singapore.

It was 10pm when we finally boarded Pride of Bilbao. Ferry was late due to bad weather and we were so hungry! But still took time to take pictures of the 4-berth cabin we had. Natalie loved the upper berth as it meant she could climb up and down to access her bed =) Couldn't believe we only paid GBP102 for this cabin with ensuite shower/toilet!

The children had lots of fun at the play area onboard the ferry. And the parents ended up being the ones painting pottery

Enroute on our city tour of Bilbao, we saw the world-famous Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Gehry, same guy who submitted designs for Sentosa IR, but wasn't successful. It was raining steadily as we arrived in Bilbao and you can see the raindrops through the coach windows.

We had morning tea at a 100-year old cafe. Apparently there were no doggy bags, so we had to wrap the leftovers in aluminium foil as the girls have dozed off. Poor things, we woke them up at 6am so we could make the tour at 7am.

We didn't take the picture...;) Note the P&O ferry outside cabin comes with standard-sized window, not portholes.

At last, fine weather on the last day of our cruise, as we sail across the English Channel....;)

The rest of the photos are on our photo page....do visit and enjoy!

Well, got no choice, as nobody will take care of them for us, and we don't want to burden anyone else. If anything, they should come with us on the trip...can't leave anyone behind, you know.
