Everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. How true that is. We cannot help ourselves. It is only through the Holy Spirit that we could overcome our weakness, and turn to God.
In Daniel 3, we see Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being forced to worship a statue and turn away from God. Now the evil one is more cunning. he makes us turn away from God with temptations, so much that we are not forced to do so, but willingly. We must always be on guard and pray constantly for strength. Thank God that He has instituted the sacraments of Reconcilliation and Holy Communion, among the others, to strengthen us. He wants us to know He forgives us.
How great my Lord is!
