It never fails. This is a photo of Natalie crying her guts out, demanding to put on her Barney shorts at 8.00pm.
After dinner, she noticed her friends next door playing outside, so she asked if she could go outside to play. After a long discussion, we agreed that she could go out to play for 15 minutes. Natalie was real excited and moved very quickly to put on her shirt and sweater, but still wearing her barney shorts.
She came back in about 13 minutes on her own, as the friends had also gone back to their flat. She was really sticky from running around and had a quick shower. That's when it started. She kept insisting on wearing her barney shorts again, although it was already time for her to go to bed. The shorts is dirty now and we have put it in the wash basket. Because we refused to let her wear, she started crying loudly, running from room to room and sulking. However, she made sure that we could hear her!
These things happen quite often, when she demands for something and we don't give it to her. How do you reason with a 3 yr old brawling kid. At any other time, she will listen to reason, but not when she is crying and shouting her gut out! She will insist and cry louder when we look at her. If we ignore her, she will throw a tantrum and try to make sure we don't forget her.
My usual tactic is to ignore her for the time she cries and then talk to her when she calms down. She will be screaming to get my attention, but I will just ignore her. Don't seem to work though, cause she still makes lots of noise.
Well, the vain pot is trying to clean herself for the photo, and she doesn't mind so long as her photos get taken and shown to others.....sigh! kind of like me when I was young! I didn't care what others think about me, no worry about loss of face, so long as I do what I like...How do I teach myself? God has a real sense of humour!
