The sisters-in-law booked a chalet to celebrate the end of the holidays, as well as to spend some time together, given that we are leaving for UK for 1 year. SO nice of them. However, since its at Downtown East, which is like 20 min drive away, I decided not to stay overnight and pay $200 for a room. They were not very happy about it, but anyway, we decided to have BBQ on Saturday, when we would join them.
Instead, Yin Yin has to go for classes, and we realized that the Selenas were registered for the Dora show, which is like in town. We didn't know that they had pre-registered. Joey asked us earlier, if we would like Natalie to go with YinYin, but we thought its not a good idea as mum & dad would be left behind and nobody would accompany them in the day. Joey even asked us what we would be doing with mum & dad in the afternoon. It seems so boring to her. Anyway, we thought wrongly that Connie and the Selenas would be there, so Natalie would still have company, and we could have tea with mum & dad. Connie told us that she would not be going. We only got to know that they are going on Friday (one day before) when connie asked if she could borrow our car to bring the children down. We were shocked, as that means that noone would be there to accompany mum & dad. KaiKai was also left behind in the morning, and left with the others cause GuoHwa said he is so pitiful, being left behind in the chalet! What about us, what about mum & dad!
Connie said that the event would end about 3pm and they would be back by 4plus. She also insisted that she told us earlier, but we were definitely not informed. It's just like Connie & Joey to discuss, decide and then inform us that they are doing some things, or buying some stuff for mum & dad or Shirley, and we just need to go along with their decision.
Natalie was pretty matured about the entire event, even though she was left behind. She played with ahMa, Shirley and we had a wonderful time. I was even able to bring her to run around in the field, and went for a swim in the pool.
Anyway, the others didn't even come back until after 6pm, which is what we expected. We had to collect the BBQ stuff, prepare the food and start the fire. Connie apologized for being late.
When David came back, he helped with the cooking, which is good. GuoHwa and Joey brought their sleeping children back to their room. I didn't even know that they were back!
While David, Selena and Shirley cooked, Joey joined the group and started cooking. We thought she was so nice, until we all realised that she set aside a plate of food for GuoHwa, who is hiding in his room, looking after the sleeping Kaikai. Dad accidentally took some food from the plate, and Connie told him that the food was meant for GuoHwa. Joey sheepishly said that it's ok, cause she has already replenished the amount of food.
When Guohwa finally came to join the group, as Kaikai is now awake, he just got more food and started eating, while Joey had to hold a plate of the food for KaiKai to feed himself! They didn't seem to bother that yinyin was not getting any food. Maybe she is already full and yinyin was busy playing with the other children.
Natalie had her noodles and some chicken, but spend most of the night playing with the others. When yin yin is around, Sonia will stick with her, and form a gang, and natalie always seemed to be outside the group, and yet, she wants to play with them. When yin yin is not around, Sonia will spend more time playing with Natalie. Sigh! well, that's another story.
We left at about 10.30pm.
Thanks to the sisters for booking the chalet! Although we didn't see much of them, we did spend more time with mum & dad, though is quite normal on a Saturday, when we go back to their place.
